A Great Way to Lose Weight: Walking

If you've determined to shed off a few pounds, then you'll have most likely have created some sort of exercise plan. If you haven't exercised for some time, or never, you may not have any idea how to get moving. You probably think it's a little frustrating. All you have to do is get moving and walk. You need to make walking a huge component of your workout plan.

First, when you're setting up an exercise regimen, be sure and include walking as a day-to-day activity. Have a dog? Take it for a fine, long walk. Anything under 10 minutes doesn't count. After a week, you'll have walked no less than seventy minutes more than if you hadn't done it at all. If you take your dog for a walk in the morning and in the afternoon then that number is multiplied by two. If you don't live too far away from your office walk there, or at least some of the way. Evidently, if you live a two hour walk frp, your work, it's not such a good idea to walk all the way there each day (but feel free to try if you think you can do it!) Of course, you'll have to walk back at the end of your work day, too, so that doubles the time you work out - whic is great! If you get on the bus to work, just start using a stop that's a little farther from either end. You'll discover it truly is no big deal to add more walking to your daily workout plan.

If you are striving to improve your health, you can't lose by walking. The reason is that walking is one of the most effective aerobic workouts. This means it's not just great for your heart, but you'll get rid of extra pounds too. You shouldn't be concerned about overworking your joints or muscles like when running, as you can go as slowly as you must. My brother is very slim (but he eats a lot of junk food) and I asked him how he stays thin. He told me how much walking he does daily, and it's a lot more than I do. It all became clear when he told me that. There is no good reason not to exercise, when walking is very easy.

You'll have a better likelihood of sticking with your walking program if you just make it part of your daily routine. Then, with a proper, healthy diet, you'll also begin losing weight as if by magic. As you become accustomed to walking, you'll notice that you're definitely feeling more fit and, because it's not that hard on you, your motivation will be enhanced as well. Before you know it, you'll be looking forward to your regular walks and planning on doing even more. If you believe you can walk more - don't hold yourself back. Once you get to the point where you're walking at a reasonably good pace and feel ready, You may be ready for jogging. After that, you can do anything you want.



There should be no excuse for you to not go out and walk even a short distance each day. You can always find time to walk around your workplace, or the block. If that's not possible, sign up for a gym membership and get on a treadmill. There are a hundred ways to skin this exercise cat.
